About PSPA

History of the Association

The Polish Space Professionals Association (PSPA) is the largest in CEE NGO gathering space professionals. Was officially registered in 2016. However, internal work within the Association began already in mid-2014. Its earliest activities began to take shape within the European space ecosystem, with PSPA effectively taking its first steps in the environment of the European Space Research and Technology Centre European Space Agency (ESTEC ESA) in Noordwijk. At the beginning the Association was incubated by the New Space Foundation, which supported its early operational development.

Activities

The Association focuses on initiatives: that promote the space industry and, above all, support the development of diverse talents within the sector. It provides recommendations to public administration, organizes meetings at universities and in cooperation with various institutions, and prepares analytical reports as well as official position papers.

Among its key,and latest, outputs is the report “State of the Polish Space Sector”, offering a comprehensive overview of the industry. To date, the Association has published nearly 20 reports, statements, evaluations, recommendations, and official positions addressing major developments and policy issues related to the space sector.

PSPA operates under the motto “Connecting in Space and on Earth” and currently brings together a community of 215 members. The Association regularly organizes expert meetings — on average 4–6 times annually, in addition to open events — held in major academic and industry hubs such as Warsaw, Kraków, Wroclaw, Lublin, Rzeszów, Gdańsk, and Zielona Góra.

The Association is actively engaged in international and sectoral initiatives, including preparations for IAC 2027; contributes to Women in Tech activities and the European Rover Challenge. The president of PSPA is also a member of the Sectoral Skills Council for the Space Industry.

The Association warmly encourages Polish individuals operating within the broadly defined space sector to join and cooperate in strengthening the Polish space ecosystem.

Objectives

The Association aims to support the development of the space sector in Poland by creating a platform for building a network of contacts between sector representatives, both domestically and internationally. PSPA is a non-profit organization operating on the basis of voluntary and unpaid work of its members.

The Association’s tasks include in particular:

Consolidating the community of experts working in areas related to the exploration and use of outer space, as well as those conducting scientific research and implementation work related to space applications, products, and technologies.
Activating young professionals working in the space industry.
Creating a communication platform between Polish representatives of the space sector in Poland and abroad.
Creating local expert databases and contact branches in Poland and abroad.
Providing information about current events in the space sector.
Promoting space technologies among academic institutions and enterprises.
Supporting Polish students and graduates in gaining professional experience in the space sector.
Supporting the Polish Space Agency and public administration bodies in shaping national space policy and implementing its objectives.
Taking positions and preparing opinions on matters concerning the development of the Polish space sector.
